AGNY is an attempt to create a one-stop destination for local and independent rock, punk, and metal music from Indiana. A band you haven’t heard of is writing your new favorite song in your neighborhood right now, and we believe shining a light on these independent local artists is how we keep rock alive while connecting you to music and artists that truly speak to you.

The Mission

Many will have you believe that rock is dead.

We know better.

Rock, punk, and metal music may not be as mainstream as they used to be, but the music of outcasts and rebels thrives best when brought back to its underground roots. The only real problem is that it can be hard to find the amazing new music in your own backyard if you don’t know where to look.

We’re here to make that easier.

Our mission is twofold; connect rock and metal fans with new music they could never hear on mainstream radio, and help Indiana local bands and artists grow a strong community. The nature of the music business causes a lot of people to be competitive or even hostile toward other artists in their niche, but we believe a rising tide lifts all ships. If we can grow a vibrant community of artists and fans by connecting local scenes all around the country or even the world, we can keep rock alive for generations to come.

The Author

Hey, everybody! I'm Zach Pegg, a musician and writer from Peru, Indiana. My father a former metal vocalist and lifelong music enthusiast, I was raised with an appreciation for heavy music and local level musicians. I went on to pick up the guitar as a teenager after being inspired by the likes of Randy Rhoads and Dimebag Darrell. I now play for the rock band Perfect Fall and launched this site in November 2023 in hopes of helping to connect the musicians, fans, and venues of the state of Indiana and beyond.
