In 2014, the band started with singer and guitarist Katie Josway, with lead guitarist Nick Faulhaber. Meeting through a post put out on craigslist, the match was made perfect and quickly did the band find bassist Colin Ellis and drummer Zach Eidee, to start work on the first self titled album. As time went on, so did the song writing, and the catalog of music began to build. The following year the EP "Before I Wake" was released featuring Katie, Nick, and new found drummer Aaron McDonald. While the lineup has changed over the years, the music has still captured that calming, folk rock ready vibe. Gypsy Moonshine has played all around Indy as well as some surrounding state gigs, including venues like the Vogue, HIFI, and the Egyptian Room. Finally in 2017 the band released its most recent album "Paperdoll". This has been considered by the band their best work yet, with even more to come. This album features the usual lineup of musicians, but with bass being filled in by Jonathan Green. Since the release of Paperdoll, singer/guitarist Katie Josway and drummer Aaron McDonald have continued as a duo, occasionally featuring rotating musicians.
